LAHORE: Meteorological experts have forecast fairly widespread showers with isolated heavy falls over Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, while scattered rain is likely over Gilgit-Balistan and northeast Balochistan.
According to Met report on Thursday, yesterday's trough of westerly wave is now moving across northeast Afghanistan and adjoining Pakistan.
A seasonal low lies over Balochistan and its trough extends southwards.
Meanwhile, moist current from Bay of Bengal is penetrating into sub-mountainous areas of Punjab and Kashmir up to 3000 feet.
The report stated that river Indus at Kotri is in very high flood and its level is falling. River Indus at Guddu & Sukkur is in medium flood. River Chenab at Punjnad in is low flood.
The rainfall recorded in mm during past 24 hrs upto 0800 pst: Nawabshah=52, Barkhan=42, Thatta=14, Mithi=10, Karachi (Masroor=07, Airport=05, Faisal=03, Badin=05, Phulra=04, Padidan & Hyderabad=02(each), Chakdara=01.
